Artist Trading Cards
What are they?
ATCs are miniature pieces of art, the size of a regular playing card, created by artists for the purpose of trading and collecting.
How did they start?
It began in 1997 when artist, M. Vanci Stirnemann created 1200 cards as part of an art exhibit. He invited others to create their own. On the last day of his show he held an event where everyone could swap their cards.
Now swap events have spread and are held around the world.
